As a photographer and artist, Laurie studied photography at Pratt Institute, and Bard College, both in New York, and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She holds BFA and MFA degrees in photography and fine art.
Laurie’s photographic style- giving attention to subtle light, color, and composition- is drawn from areas of study and experience including color landscape photography, and a thorough understanding of art history.
Laurie has lived abroad in Italy and Germany, and a European sensibility has become part of her way of seeing.
